Over the summer the Open Scholarship Support team has been working to refresh open access messaging to help researchers and authors more easily understand what they need to do. This term we will be running three focus groups to receive feedback on this.
- Tuesday 19th November, 12pm-1pm: online, for MPLS and MSD - session 1.
- Tuesday 19th November, 3pm-4pm: online, for SSD and Hums - session 2.
- Tuesday 26th November, 3pm-4pm: in person, for any researcher - including a tour of the Bodleian afterwards as thanks for your participation - session 3.
- Register for the Bodleian tour in addition to any feedback session.

Whether you're new to open access or familiar with the process of depositing your work, and whatever your career stage, your feedback can help us shape the next stage of this project.
Why are we doing this work?
Our deposit rate for research outputs is currently at around 32% and we need to improve this for a number of reasons - to comply with funder and REF requirements, and also to achieve our vision of enabling researchers worldwide to freely access Oxford-authored outputs.
What else are we doing?
In addition to communications, Bodleian Libraries are trying to automate as much of the deposit process as possible, to reduce the burden on the individual and on you in supporting them. Recent successes are the development of ORA 4 and the launch of the Jisc Publications Router.
