Current Policy
What do I do at Oxford?
  • The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has had an Open Access policy since 1 January 2015.
  • From 1 January 2017: all research and supporting data to be made Gold OA under a CC-BY licence (or equivalent). The Foundation will pay directly – researchers should not pay OA fees from their grant, or seek reimbursement. Additional costs such as page charges are also covered.
  • See the Foundation’s website for more information.
  • Check if your proposed journal meets this requirement by viewing its open access options on SHERPA/RoMEO.
  • Please Act on Acceptance and deposit a copy of your accepted manuscript in ORA at the time of article acceptance.
