Happy New Year to all our researchers. During 2019 the University’s open access repository ORA received a grand total of 17,411 deposits. This just beats 2018’s record total of 17,387. It includes all publication types – journal articles & conference papers, book chapters, books, working papers, doctoral theses and more. A huge thank you to everyone involved in continuing to upload and process all these files, enabling a steady increase in the preservation, discoverability and dissemination of Oxford’s research. ORA currently has over 67,00 files freely available full text.
Keep those deposits coming during 2020! Had a journal article accepted for publication during the Christmas break? Make sure you ‘act on acceptance’ and deposit your manuscript into ORA via Symplectic Elements within 3 months of acceptance. This is the University’s open access policy and it’s also a requirement for the REF. Need help? Visit our Act on Acceptance page for more information.
New researcher and not sure what to do for open access? Come to our next training session at 2.30pm on Wed 15th January at the Social Science Library. You can also come to the OA drop-in afterwards, or email the Bodleian Libraries’ OA Enquiry team at email@example.com, or contact your local Subject Librarian, for specific information and advice.
