Oxford’s 2018-2019 Block Grant from the Charity Open Access Fund (COAF) has now been fully spent. This requires a change of procedure for the payment of Article Processing Charges (APCs) for the non-Wellcome COAF partners. Researchers funded by the five COAF partners below should, until further notice, first contact their funder for permission to take the paid route, then obtain and pay the invoice, and then send the claim to the funder for reimbursement.
COAF contact details
- Bloodwise: email@example.com
- British Heart Foundation: firstname.lastname@example.org
- Cancer Research UK: mailto:email@example.com
- Parkinson’s UK: firstname.lastname@example.org
- Arthritis Research UK: email@example.com.
There is no need currently to fill in Oxford’s APC application form as unfortunately the Bodleian’s APC Team is unable to process these payments centrally on behalf of researchers. The grant year runs until 30 September and we will keep you updated. Further information is on the COAF website at https://wellcome.ac.uk/funding/managing-grant/coaf-information-researchers.
Wellcome Trust: no change to procedure.
We have received additional funds from the Wellcome Trust, which means that Wellcome-funded authors should continue with our usual procedure and application form at http://openaccess.ox.ac.uk/wellcome-and-coaf.
Medical Research Council researchers
MRC grant holders can continue to apply to our separate RCUK / UKRI Block Grant which still has funds available. This update only relates to COAF funders that are not Wellcome Trust.
If you have any questions please contact our OA Team on firstname.lastname@example.org.
